There are many interesting walks directly from the Barn. Here are just a few of our favorites.
Circular Walk 3.3 miles
An interesting walk right out the front door passing the famous Devil’s Stone Inn. Dog friendly but please keep your dog on the lead as sheep, pigs, and cows are in many of the fields. Wellies are essential at most times of the year!!
Head up the track and at the Oak Tree at the top turn right. After about 600m you will reach a T-Junction. turn left and follow the road down the hill. At the bottom of the hill, turn left and walk up the steep Pitt Hill. At the top of the hill, turn left walking for about 1000m past the pub on your left and the village store on your right, the village hall and infant school, the garage, and the small industrial park. Here you will find a public footpath on your left. Follow the signs walking past the Methodist Church. The path continues to the right side of a row of white houses down a small alleyway. Climbing the style, you will find some friendly pigs on your left. Walk past these towards the right-hand corner of the field, head to the field on the other side and cross another style (there is some barbed wire here which you will need to lift to enable access for your Dog), and follow the left-hand border of the field to access the footpath through a farmer’s gate. There are often 100s of sheep in the field.
Follow the right-hand border of the field to reach a stile in the top corner and walk down a muddy track turning left at the bottom. This will lead you to a T-Junction with a sign at the bottom called Manor Park. Turn right to follow the route previously passed and turn right at the top opposite the sheep farm to enter the road back to the barn.
